Great news! The 2014 Joy of the Pen poetry winners will be reading at the Longfellow Days poetry festival this year on Sunday, February 15th at 1pm at Curtis Memorial. More information is here: http://brunswickdowntown.org/events/longfellow-days-2015/
We just added the online version of the Joy of the Pen Cryer article to the gallery. You can also read it here if you missed it!
The Joy of the Pen online literary journal is now updated! You can read this year’s winners’ work, see photos from the reception, read information on the judges, sponsors and awards, and see who took part.
Congratulations to the winners and many thanks to the judges, sponsors and everyone who entered. Also thank you to all who attended the reception for making it such a great event!
Help us share the love with our Joy of the Pen posters! We have a pdf for printing and an image to share on social media:
We pleased to announced that this year’s judges have been confirmed…but sshhhh, they will remain anonymous until the reception and prize-awarding.
Here it is! The Joy of the Pen 2014 application form! This year we are asking people to submit electronically if at all possible (it makes it much easier for us!). All you have to do is complete the form (you may have to download it if you are using Firefox), save it and then email it as an attachment (along with your work in WORD or RTF format) to email@example.com. Please remember NOT to put your name on your work, just the title, as all work is judged anonymously. If you have any trouble, please contact Emma at the library for help (please note that we are accepting paper submissions if we really have to but it just helps us enormously if we receive them electronically).
Not long now! The applications will be available on Tuesday! This year we are asking everyone to submit electronically as much as possible. The application will be available as an online form that you can save and email (along with your work as a WORD document) to firstname.lastname@example.org. Don’t worry if you need help–just contact Emma at the library!
News just in! Charlie Crosby, editor of The Cryer has confirmed that they will be sponsoring the awards again this year!
