Help us share the love with our Joy of the Pen posters! We have a pdf for printing and an image to share on social media:
Judges are confirmed!
We pleased to announced that this year’s judges have been confirmed…but sshhhh, they will remain anonymous until the reception and prize-awarding.
Joy of the Pen 2014 Application form!
Here it is! The Joy of the Pen 2014 application form! This year we are asking people to submit electronically if at all possible (it makes it much easier for us!). All you have to do is complete the form (you may have to download it if you are using Firefox), save it and then email it as an attachment (along with your work in WORD or RTF format) to emma@topshamlibrary.org. Please remember NOT to put your name on your work, just the title, as all work is judged anonymously. If you have any trouble, please contact Emma at the library for help (please note that we are accepting paper submissions if we really have to but it just helps us enormously if we receive them electronically).
Coming soon!
Not long now! The applications will be available on Tuesday! This year we are asking everyone to submit electronically as much as possible. The application will be available as an online form that you can save and email (along with your work as a WORD document) to emma@topshamlibrary.org. Don’t worry if you need help–just contact Emma at the library!
Great news!
News just in! Charlie Crosby, editor of The Cryer has confirmed that they will be sponsoring the awards again this year!
Important dates for 2014!
Joy of the Pen 2014 will soon be here! Here’s some important dates:
September 2, 2014: Joy of the Pen 2014 starts accepting entries
October 11, 2014: Deadline for entries
November 8, 2014: Joy of the Pen Reception
Joy of the Pen Article from the Cryer
Welcome!
Welcome to the Joy of the Pen literary journal! Once again, thank you to our sponsors and everyone who entered the competition for making it all happen! The reception was a truly lovely event and we’re looking forward to doing it all again this year! There will be more news on Joy of the Pen 2014 coming soon.
Please note that after careful reflection, we decided to only feature the work of award winners and honorable mentions in this online journal. Our reasoning for this is that many of the work submitted deserves to be entered in other competitions and published elsewhere, and if we published them here then we would be taking that option away from the writer. We hope you understand. If you would like resources/information on getting your work published then please contact Emma at emma@topshamlibrary.org.
