It’s nearly time!
It’s that time of year again when we start accepting submissions for Joy of the Pen! This will be our third annual competition for Maine writers, and to celebrate we have a brand new website and a new category: Maine-related Nonfiction! This year our submissions are electronic and from Sept, 1, you will be able to access the application form by clicking the Joy of the Application tab above!

Joy of the Pen 2014 Application form!
Here it is! The Joy of the Pen 2014 application form! This year we are asking people to submit electronically if at all possible (it makes it much easier for us!). All you have to do is complete the form (you may have to download it if you are using Firefox), save it and then email it as an attachment (along with your work in WORD or RTF format) to emma@topshamlibrary.org. Please remember NOT to put your name on your work, just the title, as all work is judged anonymously. If you have any trouble, please contact Emma at the library for help (please note that we are accepting paper submissions if we really have to but it just helps us enormously if we receive them electronically).
Coming soon!
Not long now! The applications will be available on Tuesday! This year we are asking everyone to submit electronically as much as possible. The application will be available as an online form that you can save and email (along with your work as a WORD document) to emma@topshamlibrary.org. Don’t worry if you need help–just contact Emma at the library!
Great news!
News just in! Charlie Crosby, editor of The Cryer has confirmed that they will be sponsoring the awards again this year!
